Synthetic analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH): It stimulates the production of melanin, the pigment that darkens skin.

• Skin tanning: Darkens skin within a few doses, often used by people seeking a “sunless tan”.

• Sexual effects: Can trigger spontaneous erections in men and increase sexual desire in both men and women.

Potential Risks:

• Skin cancer risk: It may cause darkening of moles and freckles. Some reports link its use with melanoma, though evidence suggests the increased risk is more likely due to users’ heavy UV exposure alongside tanning.
